Moving to Plymouth, I found myself becoming overwhelmed with feelings of loneliness and missing the close bonds I have back home. I wanted my graduate collection to hold a sense of those bonds, so ripping inspiration from the game “Cluedo” and fussing it with memories I have of playing it with those closest to me, allowed me reminisce over these bonds while i was creating the concept, idea and garments for my collection.
“The Murder Of The Couturier” is a collection presented in the form of a 1950s dinner party which will feature various guests that will be present through the garments I create. Experimenting with veils of silk, stiff satins, textured denims and heavy-weight cottons to bring each garment to life as well as playing with a colour palette that consists of cherry red, midnight blue and black.
My aim for this collection is to showcase my pattern cutting and garment constructions skills all while creating garments that help to enhance and comply with the shape and form of one's unique figure.
