The brief for this project was to create a garment that was inspired by Africa or African fashion. For this project I decided to pull inspiration from the national flower of South Africa, The King Protea.
This was the first brief I was giving during my degree, and I wanted to challenge myself to create something intricate and beautiful which I think I achieved. This garment is two pieces a puffball bodice dress and a mermaid tailed skirt to help me bring the vision of The King Protea to life.
